Des Moines Rubber Stamp Works was established in 1880 in a basement shop in downtown Des Moines. The company changed hands several times before Frank Child Sr. purchased it in 1919. Today the third and fourth generation of the Child family operate the company as Des Moines Stamp Manufacturing Company. Originally the company sold rubber stamps and brass stencils. Today inspection stamps, pre-inked stamps, self-inking stamps and engraved signs are the main products sold throughout the U.S.
Des Moines Stamp has exceptional, dedicated, long term employees who manufacture and sell our products. A-1 Marketing Products is our branch in Moline Illinois. We recently acquired American Marking Inc. in Des Moines to expand our product line to include vinyl graphics.

Rubber stamps and mechanical Heavy Duty Daters and Stampers are in production for one day. PureMark pre-inked stamps take 2-3 days to manufacture. Most engraved products ship within a 3 days. Please allow additional time for mailing.
PureMark make 25,000 impressions and can be re-inked. Each re-inking gives the stamp a few thousand impressions before re-inking is necessary again. Most people re-order fresh stamps instead of re-inking old ones.
If you’ve ordered it from us before, we can make another without resubmitting an original signature. Just let us know the red re-order number on the label of the stamp. If it’s a new signature, please sign your name three times on a white sheet of paper with a black felt tip pen (approximately the size you’d like the stamp). Send the signature to P.O. Box 1798 Des Moines, IA 50306. Include mailing and billing information.
We’ll include an invoice with each shipment and bill on open accounts to all qualified businesses. We don’t ship open account to individuals. Our terms are “Due on receipt”. We accept American Express, Visa and Master Card.
Rubber stamps require an ink pad to make an impression. Self-inkers have an ink pad built into the mechanism and work best for rapid, heavy usage. Pre-inked stamps are made from a solid slab of ink with individual characters molded in the slab. They make the sharpest impressions but aren’t recommended for rapid, heavy duty use.
